I happen to think $10 is pretty reasonable for the product, however, I’m a broke housewife/mother/college student. The online version works just fine for me :)

It’s the expense thing for me, although I ticked “other” not “$10 is too expensive” because I actually do think $10 is a fair enough price. I don’t especially want the extra functionality, though, and the online version works really well for me. It’s more the case that I’m surprised at just how good the free service is, you know?

I’ve used write or die for PC for the past three NoWriMo. Last year, I bought it for ipad. I now have a love-hate relationship with it. I can’t get my writing out!! I can’t seem to copy it out!! It keeps freezing on me. I am afraid to delete the app and reload it because then I’ll loose all my work!! Help me love this app again and save my work and start writing again!!! Please!!

I would use the desktop edition on my mac if I was able to purchase it through the App Store.

You will multiply your profit if you introduce alternative payment options such as credit cards with no paypal in between, moneybookers or some other service. I’d love to buy the desktop version but there’s no paypal in my country of residence, and it’s in Europe…so many potential customers out there.

Have you considered developing a Chrome app? I use the online version because I’ve gone to solely cloud-based computing. Chromebooks have no desktop. I would definitely pay for a Chrome app that has offline functionality.

I would adore the desktop version, as it would be great to shut down my Internet and turn off distractions, but I really hate paying for things online, even through PayPal. Also, I am a deathly poor college student, and as nice as the desktop version would be, it’s not worth the $10 to me- I pay for my food and shelter by professional pet sitting, which is not the most lucrative business.

I love the online version, though. It’s helped me write everything from novels to term papers. I’d be dead without it! (Side note: for the love of all that is holy, please never ever charge for the online one. I would die. Do you want that on your conscience?)

Program is genius! I’m too poor to purchase the desktop version…although I totally want to! Extra features would come in handy!

I prefer (and love, need, adore) the desktop version as I can use it when Im not online – and being online really hinders my writing.
But I am very glad with the web app as well, as I can use it from other pcs, when travelling.
And 10$ is really NOT expensive for such a great tool!!
